Be Brave Not Beige

That title has always been a funny statement to me. Be Brave Not Beige! It was the slogan as part of a IKEA ad to be more brave with color choices in your home a few years ago and it has always stuck with me. It is the advice I give my family and friends when it comes to decorating. However I can't seem to accept it in my own home.

I am constantly changing out furniture in my space. When I get tired of something I sell it and buy something new to satisfy my design ADD. But, I have some great core pieces that I LOVE, but they are all neutral colors!!! The funny thing is that when I look at old photos I have saved or on my pinterest, almost all of the pictures have a neutral bohemian thing going on. So if it is what I am just drawn to should I just embrace it?

But every time I look at my space I feel like I need some color! I have never felt so torn about colors vs. neutrals. I have a ever evolving olioboard of my living room space that I add to/change when new pieces come in or out. And I am trying to use it to give me some courage to add in some colorful accessories and art!

This is my living room for the most part. The pieces that I actually have are the CB2 Lido daybed, the media console, the two rugs, the elle decor marble side tables, and the Dorothy Draper is one that I made, and I have curtains in the Java Ikat fabric. Everything is is just similar to what I have.

So if anyone out there happens upon my new little blog, please help me with color choices!!! I will take some pictures of my actual space and post those up later!

Craigslist Find of The Week!

I am constantly changing out my furniture in my condo. It is a habit that secretly makes my husband crazy, but I can't help myself. When I am having trouble falling asleep my go to app is craigslist. There is something about searching for furniture that helps me sleep!

So two days ago, while looking on the app, I came across a daybed for sale in a town near me. It said it was in good condition  but from the crappy photos it was hard to tell. The seller also noted that they would deliver for a small fee. Now, normally I am not one to buy something sight unseen off craigslist, but I honestly didn't feel like driving 30 minutes and putting this thing in my car.

So we set up a time and the woman and her husband delivered it to me, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised  It was in great condition and much nicer than I thought it would be. I had it set in my mind that I was going to measure it and order some dark gray linen to reupholster it as soon as it came into my house.
But it was great and I was shocked! It didn't have any tags on the bottom, but I thought it looked familiar. I had been messing around with olioboard with daybeds and I thought it looked like the one I might have used. So I check olioboard and sure enough it's the same exact daybed! I click on Shop It and it brings me to CB2's website. Turns out I just bought a CB2 Lubi Daybed for only $75!

Is it just me or is it strangely satisfying when you stumble across a great deal and you didn't even know it?

First Post and Some Chairs...

So I finally decided to actually write
something on this blog. I read so many
different blogs daily and honestly have been
feeling a little intimidated to actually start my own.
But I figure it's a great creative outlet and a
place to document my "treasures"as my 2 year
old likes to call them!

So I start off with these wonderful vintage
chrome armchairs. I found these this morning
and for once I don't have to do anything to
them! The chrome is in great condition with
only a few minor rust spots and the fabric is
in beautiful condition. I wish I could keep
them for myself, but if I did this
blog wouldn't be about furniture and design and
would be about my chair hoarding problem.

So they will be for sale on my Etsy site,
www.PavonaRestoration.Etsy.com for $300 for the
pair plus shipping. And I came up with a
little inspiration board to show how they could
look in your space!
